About this tool — and its real scope
This gives a fast, single overall verdict by checking an IP against a small, modest set of commonly-referenced DNS-based block lists (DNSBLs). It is deliberately a lightweight spot-check, not a comprehensive or authoritative reputation score: it does not query every blocklist in existence, and a "Not Listed" result here means exactly that — none of the checked sources reported a listing — not a guarantee that an address has no reputation issues anywhere else. What being "listed" actually means
DNSBLs track IP addresses associated with spam, abuse, or compromised systems, usually reported by mail server operators and abuse-monitoring networks. A listing is a signal, not a certainty — shared hosting IPs, dynamic residential ranges, and recently-reassigned addresses can carry a previous occupant's listing for a period after reassignment.
