What information WHOIS Lookup Tool processes, why, and what rights you have over it.
Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 2026
This policy explains how WHOIS Lookup Tool ("we", "us", "the site") handles information in connection with your use of this website, in line with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the EU General Data Protection Regulation (EU GDPR), and the UK Data Protection Act 2018.
Who we are

- Company name: EKSTRUH LTD
- Company registration number: 16905290
- Registered office address: Victoria Grove, Bolton, United Kingdom, BL1 4JW

What information we process
Lookups you submit
When you use a domain, WHOIS/RDAP, DNS, IP, website, SSL/security, or email-security tool, the domain, IP address, or URL you enter is sent to our server to perform a live lookup against public DNS, WHOIS/RDAP registries, or the target server directly. This information is used only to generate your result and is not stored after the request completes.
Password tools
The Password Generator and Password Strength Checker run entirely in your browser using JavaScript. Nothing you type into these tools is ever sent to our server. The Password Encryption tool does send the text you submit to our server to compute a hash, for that single request only — it is not logged or stored.
Affiliate click logging
If you click an affiliate link on this site, we log the partner name, where on the site you clicked it, and the page you clicked it from, with a timestamp — used only in aggregate to understand which pages and partners are useful to visitors. We do not log your IP address or browser information as part of this, and this logging is separate from any tracking cookie the affiliate network itself may set once you leave this site — see "Affiliate links" below.
Server logs
Like virtually all websites, our hosting infrastructure automatically records standard web server logs for security and reliability purposes — typically including your IP address, browser user-agent, the page requested, and the time of the request. These logs are used to detect abuse, maintain service security, and diagnose technical issues, and are retained only for a limited period before being rotated or deleted.
Cookies, analytics and advertising
This site uses (or is configured to use, once enabled) Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site, and Google AdSense to display advertising that helps keep the tools free. Some pages may also contain affiliate links. None of these are strictly necessary cookies, and each is only set for the category ("Analytics" / "Advertising") you've switched on via the cookie consent banner shown on the site, which you can revisit at any time using "Manage Preferences" or the "Cookie Preferences" link in the footer — see the sections below and our Cookie Policy for full details of what each one does.
Google Analytics
If enabled and consented to, Google Analytics collects information about how you use this site — such as pages visited, time spent, approximate location (derived from IP address), device and browser type — to help us understand and improve the service. This data is processed by Google LLC / Google Ireland Limited, and may involve a transfer of data outside the UK/EEA, in each case under Google's standard contractual safeguards. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking site-wide using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, in addition to rejecting non-essential cookies on this site.
Google AdSense
If enabled and consented to, this site may display advertising served by Google AdSense. Google and its advertising partners may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites, and to measure ad performance. You can manage or opt out of personalised advertising via Google Ads Settings, or generally via Your Online Choices (EU) or aboutads.info (US-based networks that also serve UK/EU traffic).
Affiliate links
Some links on this site may be affiliate links. If you click one and go on to make a purchase or sign up with the linked provider, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Clicking an affiliate link may set a tracking cookie placed by that affiliate network (not by us directly) so the referral can be attributed. This does not affect the accuracy of any DNS, SSL, or other lookup result on this site, which is generated independently and live from the public DNS system.
Legal basis for processing (UK/EU GDPR)
Where server logs or lookup requests involve personal data (such as an IP address), we rely on legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f) UK/EU GDPR) — specifically, keeping the service secure, reliable, and free from abuse — as the legal basis for that processing. Analytics and advertising cookies are instead set only with your consent (Article 6(1)(a) UK/EU GDPR and UK PECR), given via the cookie consent banner, and you may withdraw or change that consent at any time using the "Cookie Preferences" link in the site footer.
Sharing of information
We do not sell personal data. Information may be processed by our hosting provider strictly as necessary to operate the website, and — only where you've consented — by Google (for Analytics and AdSense) and by affiliate networks linked to from the site, each acting as an independent data controller for their own processing.
International transfers
If our hosting infrastructure is located outside the UK or European Economic Area, any transfer of personal data is made with appropriate safeguards as required by UK/EU GDPR.
Data retention
Lookup requests are not retained. Affiliate click logs are kept in aggregate form. Standard server logs are kept only for a limited, routinely rotated period, sufficient for security and diagnostic purposes, and are not used for profiling or marketing.
Your rights
Under UK/EU GDPR, you have the right to:
- Request access to personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate personal data
- Request erasure of your personal data
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Request data portability, where applicable
- Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO)
To exercise any of these rights, contact help@whoislookuptool.com.
Children's privacy
This website is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
