About this tool
An expired SSL certificate breaks HTTPS entirely — visitors get a full-page browser security warning instead of your site. This tool checks exactly when a certificate expires and classifies it into four clear states, so a renewal that's about to lapse doesn't go unnoticed.
The four status levels
- Healthy — more than 30 days remain.
- Warning — 30 days or fewer remain.
- Critical — 7 days or fewer remain.
- Expired — the certificate has already lapsed.
Most free certificates (like Let's Encrypt) are valid for 90 days and renew automatically — a "warning" result on an auto-renewing setup is often just normal timing, not a problem. It's worth real attention when a "critical" or "expired" result appears on a certificate you expected to auto-renew, since that usually means the renewal process itself has broken silently.
